As a member of our team, Rebecca represents both injured claimants and insurers in a variety of cases, including car accidents, slip and fall claims, and various insurance disability disputes. She frequently advises clients and litigates automobile insurance disputes over statutory accident benefits and disability benefits available through individual or employers’ group plans.

In addition to advocating at the Licence Appeal Tribunal, Rebecca has also attended at the Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Small Claims Court. She enjoys the challenges of a complex case and is comfortable appearing at any level of court or tribunal on behalf of our clients. With her background in nursing, social sciences, and law, Rebecca brings a unique and specialized skill set and experience to our clients’ cases.

Prior to studying law, Rebecca became a Registered Nurse and worked at Parkwood Hospital on the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Unit and the Acquired Brain Injury Unit. Her nursing training included placements on the secured Forensic Unit at London Psychiatric Hospital and in diverse acute care settings at London Health Sciences Centre, including paediatric care. Also, during her training, Rebecca worked with the Canadian Red Cross, providing community care services.

Following her nursing career, Rebecca obtained her Bachelor of Social Sciences with distinction from the University of Western Ontario before attending Queen’s University, where she completed her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2005. After law school, she articled at a large personal injury litigation firm in London before returning to her hometown of Woodstock to practise law at Nesbitt Coulter LLP. In doing so, she recognized the advantages of working within a highly specialized firm that engages with its clients on a personal level and within a supportive community.

On the personal injury team, Rebecca has appeared in a variety of cases for both adult and paediatric clients suffering from various physical, cognitive, and/or psychological traumas. This includes spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, amputations, soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
