Derek Truelove
Derek obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Western Ontario and also graduated from the University of Waterloo where he obtained his B.A. Honours. He specializes in providing legal services and advice in a variety of areas, including real estate and property development, corporate/commercial transactions, wills and estate planning, municipal law and employment.
Derek’s real estate services include residential, commercial and industrial purchase/sales, farm transfers, private sale agreements, title transfers, builder new home sales and refinancing existing properties. Derek also works extensively in varying areas of property development including severances, multi-unit residential, subdivisions and condominiums.

Derek’s corporate/commercial practice includes incorporations, shareholder agreements, corporate reorganizations, purchase and sale of businesses (assets or shares), leases, and employment agreements. He provides general corporate and business law advice on a regular basis to businesses throughout Woodstock and the surrounding area. Derek’s practice also encompasses estate planning, drafting wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration matters.
Derek provides employment advice and employment litigation services to both businesses and individuals in Southwestern Ontario. He has experience representing clients in negotiations, mediation, and trials at various levels with respect to employment matters (employee and employer). Derek’s approach to litigation is results-driven, offering cost-effective legal solutions to his clients.
When not practicing law, Derek enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, as well as hiking and biking.
