Jacob Van Boekel
Jacob was raised on a farm north of Woodstock. He completed an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in history and economics at Queen’s University before obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario. Inspired by his local roots, Jacob pursued topics in agriculture and the law throughout his time at university and was the Canadian Association for Food Law and Policy’s 2023 emerging voice in food law. Jacob also published in academic journals on issues relating to agriculture and the law on two occasions during his time in university.
Jacob continues to keep the interests of his Oxford County neighbours at the top of mind through his legal practice by focusing on the varying needs of local families, farms and business owners. His practice includes corporate/commercial transactions, wills, trusts and estate planning, real estate and municipal law. Jacob’s background has positioned him to understand the particular needs of local businesses including farm-specific real estate and tax issues.
When not in the office Jacob keeps busy by staying up to date with politics and current events, playing fastball and learning new board games. Jacob continues to regularly help out on his family’s farm and Field of Dreams.
